How many of us only go shopping for a special event, or an upcoming trip? But when it comes to our everyday lives we have absolutely nothing to wear.
You may have cleaned out your closet a few times thinking that would solve the problem, but once you are done with the closet cleanse you are stuck with only a few items to wear.
I can tell you right now that it's not always about the amount of items that's in your closet, it's also about what you purchase.
The reason why you have nothing to wear is because you aren't buying the right things for your wardrobe.
When shopping the first thing you want to do is consider your lifestyle.
How much time do you spend at work, school, everyday activities etc?
Your wardrobe should consist of where you spend the majority of your time.
So if you work from home 5 days of the week between 40 hrs, i'm pretty sure you want to dress comfortable but also dress in away that makes you feel productive. You just don't shop for this area in your life so that's why you're struggling.
Let Me Help You
Here is what I want you to do, set aside a few minutes no more then 30 minutes to really think about your day to day activities. How many days per week/ month do you spend doing those activities?
Once you've broken that down log on to Pinterest or maybe grab a magazine and collect images of how you would like to dress for each activity.
When collecting images it's really important to ask yourself why you like a certain piece? Most of the time we are drawn to something because of the small detail. For example, you may not like the detailing in a pair of pants but you love the way it's pieced together.
I Hope this blog post gave you a little light on how you can make your wardrobe more functional.
