Holiday Traditions As a First Time Mom
This year will be India's second Thanksgiving and Christmas! Last year India was only 3 months so she was sleep throughout the day for Christmas and Thanksgiving! This year she is 1 ( 16 months) and full of energy! We recently put up the Christmas Tree and watching her eyes light up made me so excited! When I was pregnant with her I would dream of these moments and now they are finally here. Being a first-time mom, I've definitely wanted to incorporate some of the Holiday Traditions that I did with my mom! But, I realized that India is a lot different then I was when I was younger she has twice the energy and she's raised in a whole different city.
One of my favorite ways to unwind during those cold cozy nights is cuddled under my favorite Christmas blanket, wearing my favorite pair of socks. In fact, warm socks for the Holiday has always been my favorite stocking stuffer.
What I love about Solmate Socks, is that they are whimsical and mismatched socks for adults, children, and babies. For those of you who love supporting brands that are Eco-friendly, Solmate Socks are created with recycled yarn and strives to abide by a zero-waste policy
Along with cozying up and watching Classic Christmas movies, here are some of the traditions that we will be incorporating!
Because we live in the City, many of the homes do not put out lights the way they did when I was growing up in a smaller town. So we will be attending the Lights Festival at the Zoo which is so much fun.
Santa's workshop will be starting soon, this will be new for us as there is normally a big market, with tons of food trucks and a ton of other fun events that are perfect for kids.
We have yet to take India to the movies, there are a few movies out that I think she may enjoy! We will probably take her to an early movie just in case she is full of energy!
The Holiday Express train has been on my bucket list since moving to Chicago. Think of it as Polar Express in the City! I will probably be more excited for this then India.
Last but not least we always travel to Missouri to visit our family! We always spend Christmas away from the city, this will be fun for us because we get a little break and India will be able to spend time with her Grandparents and Cousins.
Along with all the fun traditions that we will be doing every year now, wearing cozy socks are a must, especially for when you are traveling on a train or plane! If you are looking for some fun whimsical stocking stuffers, make sure you check out Solmate Socks
