It's almost my favorite time of year again, Summer! This will be my second Summer being a momma, and I'm so excited to create more memories with India. I have a small bucket list of places and events that we will be doing this year. One of those things happens to be movies in the park! Which is something that Fredrick and I have been doing long before becoming parents. And of course, we will make it a point to visit the park at least once a week. India loves, the slide and thinks she's old enough to get on the monkey bars.
India's Sunscreen Skin Care Routine
Although Chicago is known for the cold and Windy Winters it definitely gets scorching hot. So before doing any outside activities, it's important that I implement a daily sunscreen skincare routine into our morning routine. For India, I like to use the Aveeno® Baby Continuous Protection® Sensitive Skin Zinc Oxide Sunscreen SPF 50.
What I like about the Aveeno® Baby Continuous Protection® is the fact that it's very lightweight and won't leave your baby's skin sticky or greasy. When India was first born I didn't know what products to use, because there are just so many to choose from. So I went with the brand that dermatologist and pediatricians recommend which is Aveeno®. Also, if your baby has sensitive skin this sunscreen also contains zinc oxide for superior UVA/UVB protection.
My Sunscreen Skincare Routine
For my skin, I like to use the AVEENO® PROTECT + HYDRATE® Lotion Sunscreen with Broad Spectrum SPF 50 for Face. On a normal day, I do not wear makeup because my face sweats alot, this formula is water & sweat-resistant (for 80 minutes) while providing 24-hour skin hydration against chlorine, salt water, and sweat. This formula also hydrates skin because of the ACTIVE NATURALS® Colloidal Oatmeal.
CVS currently has Buy 1, Get 1 50% off Aveeno Suncare (5/20-6/2) and with the holiday weekend approaching this is the perfect time to stock up.
Once we are finished getting dressed, I make sure that I have all of India's must-haves!
Now that she is older her must-have travel essentials are alot less than what I used to carry around. The goal is to keep her as calm as possible while we maneuver our way throughout the city.
I always make sure to carry these few things with us:
Toddler on The Go Travel Essentials
Tablet: This is a must have especially if you're going out to eat, I always make sure that India's favorite movies are downloaded, making it easy for her to enjoy.
Snacks: India loves to eat crunchy foods, so I always have some crackers for her to munch on. I also cut up grapes and put them in a plastic bowl for her as well. And for those days when she is fussy, I always have a small pouch of fruit snacks which always puts a smile on her face.
Her favorite toy: India is not really into dolls just yet, but any toy that makes noise or plays music is always packed in her bag as well
And of course, I always keep an extra outfit for her, as well as diapers and wipes!
