Christmas doesn't go wrong in December. It goes wrong in January.

"How much did I actually spend?"

Gifts bought across three months, four cards and two shops. The number only becomes real when the statement lands.

"Did I already buy for her?"

Something bought in October, hidden so well it's forgotten by December — and bought again.

"Who did I miss?"

The neighbour, the teacher, the one cousin. Remembered at 9pm on Christmas Eve.

Questions

Before you download

Is the Christmas gift tracker spreadsheet really free?

Yes, completely. Enter your email and it arrives immediately. There's no trial, no card, and no upsell attached to it.

Do I need Excel to use it?

No. It's a Google Sheets template, and Google Sheets is free with any Google account. If you'd rather use Excel you can download it as an .xlsx from the File menu, though a few of the automatic charts work best in Sheets.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. Install the free Google Sheets app and it syncs across your phone, tablet and laptop — useful when you're standing in a shop trying to remember whether you already bought for someone.

How do I make my own copy?

Open the link in the email, then go to File → Make a copy. That saves an editable version to your own Google Drive. The original stays untouched, so you can always start fresh.

Can I change the budget and recipient categories?

Yes. The categories are ordinary cells — type over them and every dropdown, chart and total updates automatically to match.

Can I print the Christmas planner?

Yes. Every tab prints — the gift list template, the budget, the cards tracker and the December calendar. Use File → Print and choose landscape for the calendar and itinerary. Plenty of people keep a printable Christmas planner on the fridge and the spreadsheet on their phone.

Can I use the same spreadsheet again next year?

Yes. Make a fresh copy each year, or clear the entries and reuse the same file. The countdown and date fields update on their own.

What's actually included?

Five tabs: a Christmas budget and gift tracker with an expenses chart, a gifts planner covering bought, wrapped and delivered, a Christmas cards tracker with addresses, a December planning calendar with checkboxes, and an hour-by-hour itinerary for December 23rd to 26th.
