How to look glam on a budget everyday

I think that we are in a new era where most girls desire to dress more glam and to feel more confident in their outward appearance. To achieve a more glam style doesn’t mean that you have to go out and splurge, it just means that you need to make tiny tweaks to your self-care routine, the way you put outfits together, and what you choose to purchase.

Inside this blog post, I’m sharing with you some small ways to dress more glamorous.

And if you are not familiar with the glam style archetype, check out our Glamorous style guide here

Create a go-to hair style

I am someone who loves consistency, in my hair style. But just from watching women who do dress glamorous, I’ve noticed one key thing that they all have in common and it’s a go-to hairstyle.  Some of the women who I admire when it comes to this is Teairra Walker, Tawana of Hair So Chic & Lori Harvey.

Keep your eyebrows and lashes done

Have you ever got your eyebrows are done and it literally made your face appear brighter and more clear?  This is one of the reasons why I love to get my eyebrows done. Because if I am not in the mood to wear makeup, my face will still always look clear and groomed. And if you are into wearing eyelashes, I highly recommend learning to do them yourself, or adding this to your budget.

Create a Skincare Routine

I mentioned creating a 5-minute makeup routine along with keeping your eyebrows and eyelashes groomed. Well, the biggest thing in making those maintenance needs work. Is investing in your skincare routine. If your insurance doesn’t cover a dermatologist then go the DIY route. For example, I noticed that I was getting melanoma, and after doing some research I learned that glycolic acid will help. So I’ve made sure to include that in my skincare routine. Youtube is also a great place to learn how to develop your skincare routine.

 Create a color palette

Dressing glamorously consistently doesn’t have to take a lot of effort. In fact, if you find that your wardrobe is all over the place and your style isn’t consistent. Then you may want to consider creating a color palette. Creating a color palette will allow you to put glam outfits together on a consistent basis.

Get your clothes altered to fit you better

The art of a good tailor is not lost. You may have a pair of jeans that fits perfectly but just so happens to gap in the waist. Well, a tailor will help you with that. Once you find a good tailor/seamstress. Hold on to them, as sometimes the best ones are hard to find.

Invest in  jewelry to help spice up your basics

In my personal wardrobe, I have selected jewelry items that are a must-have. Such as my pandora bracelet. Pandora layered necklaces and wedding rings. These always help to make even my most basic outfit more stylish.

Shop consignment stores for quality items

In most recent years, consignment shops and thrift stores have increased their prices. However, this doesn’t stop many from donating their items. So definitely shop at these stores to purchase quality items for a fraction of the price.

Take Time To Plan and Coordinate Your Outfits

Actually, take some time to plan and go through your clothing items to create outfits. Create an outfit journal to document your favorite outfits, so that way you can recreate them when in need of something to wear. This also helps to make use of clothing items that you have in your wardrobe that you may have forgotten about.

Avoid lots of patterns and prints

In most cases, a glam outfit includes less bold patterns and prints and more neutral and solid colors. So avoid wearing stripes, polka dots, etc. Too much can cheapen the look of your outfit. If you must wear a print, I recommend going for stripes in neutral colors.  And even florals in soft pastel colors.

Dressing glam isn’t all about price point. But simply strategizing how you groom yourself, the colors you purchase along with simply taking time to put extra special care into your appearance.
