This Privacy Policy explains how Autum Love ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit autumlove.com, use Ask Autum (our AI personal styling assistant), or subscribe to Ask Autum Pro.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We do not sell your personal data. We do not display advertising. We collect only what we need to provide you with a great experience.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly

• Email address — when you subscribe to our newsletter or join Ask Autum Pro
• Name — if you provide it in your style profile or account
• Payment information — collected and processed by Squarespace (we never see or store your card details)
• Style profile — body type, color season, budget, lifestyle, style preferences (stored locally on your device)
• Closet photos — images you upload to My Closet (stored locally on your device, never sent to our servers)
• Profile photo — if you add one to your style profile (stored locally on your device)

Information collected automatically

• Usage data — pages visited, time on site, via Squarespace analytics
• Device information — browser type, operating system, screen size (standard web analytics)
• Location (approximate) — used only to show live local weather in the Ask Autum portal. We do not store your location.

Information we do NOT collect

• We do not collect Social Security numbers, government IDs, or financial account numbers
• We do not track you across other websites
• We do not sell your data to advertisers or data brokers

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Ask Autum service
• To process your membership and send receipts
• To send styling tips, outfit guides, and updates you've subscribed to
• To show you weather-appropriate outfit suggestions (location is used in real-time only, never stored)
• To respond to your questions or support requests
• To improve the quality and relevance of AI styling recommendations

We will never use your information to send spam, sell to third parties, or display targeted advertising.

4. Where Your Data Is Stored

Locally on your device (browser storage)

Your style profile (body type, color season, budget, style preferences), closet items and photos, color analysis results, and daily streak data are all stored in your browser's localStorage — on your device only. This data does not leave your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

This means: if you clear your browser data or switch devices, this information will not transfer automatically. We recommend noting your style profile details so you can easily re-enter them.

Squarespace servers

Your email address, membership status, and account information are stored securely by Squarespace as part of their Member Areas platform. Squarespace is SOC 2 compliant and encrypts data in transit and at rest.

Email (MailerLite)

If you subscribe to our email list, your email address and any preferences you share are stored in MailerLite, our email marketing platform. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party services to operate this site and Ask Autum:

• Google Fonts — fonts loaded for site design. Google may collect limited data per their standard policy.

We do not share your personal information with any other third parties without your explicit consent.

6. Ask Autum & AI Conversations

Ask Autum is powered by Chatbase, which uses large language model (AI) technology to provide styling advice.

• Conversations you have with Ask Autum are processed by Chatbase's servers
• Your style profile is included in conversations as context — this helps Ask Autum give you personalized advice
• Photos you paste into the chat (such as closet items for styling) are sent to the AI for processing
• We recommend not sharing sensitive personal information (financial details, passwords, etc.) in chat conversations
• Ask Autum is an AI assistant, not a human stylist. Always use your own judgment when making purchases

7. Membership & Payments

Ask Autum Pro memberships are processed through Squarespace Member Areas. When you subscribe:

• Payment is processed securely by Squarespace using Stripe
• We never see, store, or have access to your credit card details
• Your billing information is governed by Squarespace's and Stripe's privacy policies
• You may cancel your membership at any time from your Squarespace account settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion — request deletion of your personal data
• Portability — request your data in a portable format
• Opt-out — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time

For data stored in Squarespace (account and billing), please also contact Squarespace directly or manage your data via your account settings.

For data stored locally on your device (style profile, closet), you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage or using your browser's privacy settings.

9. Children's Privacy

autumlove.com and Ask Autum are intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify subscribers by email.

Continued use of autumlove.com or Ask Autum after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Mediavine Programmatic Advertising

The Website works with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies.
