How We Choose &
Evaluate Products

Everything you find on AutumLove is here because it earned its place. My name is Autum, and this site exists because I believe you deserve real recommendations from someone who actually shops, tests, and thinks about this stuff — not just a list of whatever pays the most.

It's Me — With a Little Help

AutumLove is run by me, Autum. I'm a style expert, content creator, and genuinely obsessed with finding pieces that work in real life not just on a runway. I built this site because I wanted a place where style advice felt personal, honest, and actually useful.

Occasionally I work with writers I trust to help cover more ground, but every recommendation on this site goes through the same standard: would I actually buy this? Would I actually wear it? Does it hold up?

There's no editorial board, no committee, no brand deals that buy their way into my picks. It's one woman with high standards and a very organized spreadsheet.

How We Evaluate Every Product

Before anything makes it onto AutumLove whether it's in an article, a quiz recommendation, or The Autum Edit it goes through a real evaluation. Here's what that looks like:

Research first. I dig into customer reviews, brand reputation, ingredient lists (for beauty), fabric and construction (for fashion), and how the product performs over time not just at first use.
Real-world wearability. I think about actual life work, errands, events, different body types, different budgets. A product has to make sense for the reader I'm writing for, not just look good in a flat lay.
Value, not just price. I recommend things across every budget because the best product isn't always the most expensive one. An $18 Amazon find that actually works beats a $200 version that doesn't.
Accessibility. I prioritize products that are actually available — with size ranges, price points, and availability that reflect real women, not just a narrow standard.
The gut check. Would I personally recommend this to my best friend? If the answer is no, it doesn't go on the site. Simple as that.

Our Affiliate Relationship

Some of the links on AutumLove are affiliate links. That means if you click a link and make a purchase, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is how I'm able to keep this site free and keep creating content.

But here's what that doesn't mean: compensation has no influence over what gets recommended. Products are chosen because they're good, full stop. I would never recommend something I wouldn't stand behind just to earn a commission that would be a waste of your time and mine.

When a product is sponsored or gifted, I disclose that clearly. My editorial opinion remains my own.

What You Can Always Count On

I built AutumLove on the idea that style advice should feel like it's coming from a friend who actually knows what she's talking about — not a brand trying to sell you something. That's still the standard everything is held to.

If something I recommended doesn't work out for you, I genuinely want to know. You can always reach me directly at partnerships@autumlove.com.
