3 Shaving Hacks to Try During the Winter

This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/Philips

Recently I've been on the hunt for a new shaver, one that would be easy to use while also saving me a lot of time. So as you can imagine, I’m really excited to share with you all the Philips SatinShave. One of the things that I was looking for in a shaver was one that could be used in or out of the tub. Luckily the Philips SatinShave  can be used both wet or dry. It’s completely cordless and rechargeable, giving 1hour of usage after an 8 hour charge. You don’t have to worry about if its fully charged or not because of the battery indicator light.

We travel the most during the holiday season, so I prefer to travel with items that aren’t going to take up too much space, and also are convenient and functional. Anything that I can tuck safely into my suitcase or travel bag is a win for me. The Philips SatinShave comes with a travel pouch, where you can also store the additional trimming comb attachment and efficiency cap, which are especially needed for grooming the bikini area.

Here are some of my favorite shaving tips & hacks that are especially important during the cold weather.

Exfoliate your legs

If you have dry skin like me, during the winter you will get the best results when you exfoliate. Exfoliating your skin first helps to remove dead skin cells or anything that is clogging your skin from receiving needed moisture. Doing this one step before shaving will ensure that moisturizer is really penetrating your skin. I tend to exfoliate at least once a week. You can use a dry brush to help you with this.

Steam up your bathroom prior to shaving

Again, what I love about the Philips SatinShave is that you can use it in the tub or shower. We know that with warm water comes extra steam which is perfect, especially if you have sensitive skin. This will make it much easier for you to shave

Try oil based products before applying a lotion

This is just a tip that I have used for years and it’s always worked for me. When it comes to adding moisture I tend to double down on this during the winter. After shaving, I first add an oil-based product and then follow up with a lotion. When I do this, it helps so much that if I forgot to apply lotion the next day my legs will still be moisturized.
